Description

The two came out into the balcony, quiet and calm. Before them was a remarkable vista of a sprawling city, beautifully constructed, filled with columned buildings, silver spires, and crystal pyramids. It was a city of beauty and power, it was a Legion city.

"It has been a long time, hasn't it Genie?" asked the first.
"Yep, it has been, Jasmine. Almost five centuries have passed since the loss of Agrabah and the death of our friends to a returned Jafar and his new minions." answered the Genie.
"Throne of Terra, has it been that long? I still vividly remember the cries of our people, the screams of fear and death that spread throughout Agrabah." said Jasmine.
"Mmm....you fought bravely that day, Princess." the Genie replied.
"But to what end? No matter what we did, we couldn't stop the tide of monsters that ravaged our city. Nor could we stop Jafar and his insanity. Nor.........could we save my father and my love from death."
"I know, Jasmine. I know. But Aladdin and your dad did what they could, just as you did. We are the last to remember, the only survivors to escape the holocaust of Agrabah." said the Genie.
"Yes, and now we have help and knowledge. We have a legion of warriors and mystics to aid us in our time of need. I myself have learned much since my transformation, as have you, Genie." said Jasmine.
"Princess Jasmine, I'm honored to be your trusted friend, and your new Tutelary." said the Genie.
Both then turned at the sound of heavy footfalls. A seven-foot giant in red armor engraved with mystical sigils, geometric symbols, and gold lining approached them. Strong power radiated from him; here was a sorcerer and psychic equal to Jafar and the Genie in power. And he was about to soul-bind the two together as one. Jasmine was the apprentice, Genie the companion, and this warrior......he was the master. For Jasmine, it was the culmination of five hundred years worth of learning the mystic arts, the way of the sorcerer, the path of the psyker, the path of the Thousand Sons.- Princess Jasmine, wife to Prince Aladdin, daughter of the Sultan of Agrabah, friend to the Genie, Mistress of the First Fellowship, member and master of the five Legion cults, Philosophus, apprentice to Ahzek Ahriman, First Captain and Master of the XV Legion.

Just like the six other Disney Princesses, Jasmine had to endure the loss of her kingdom and the death of all her loved ones, including her husband Aladdin, at the hands of a resurrected Jafar and his new master. Only she and the Genie survived the cataclysmic destruction of Agrabah, both fleeing to the safety of the desert. They wandered for hours, saddened and with grief, before Jafar and his minions found them. Despite Genie's best efforts and Jasmine's clever thinking, they didn't last long, and were about to die...........until fate intervened.

Powerful energies of unknown origin suddenly appeared out of nowhere, destroying many of Jafar's creatures. From the dust, five warriors appeared. All wore identical crimson armor, emblazoned with many sigils and symbols of arcane origin. One fought as if he could predict every move of the enemy and with sorcerous powers that made him easily the equal to Jafar in power. Another fought using telepathy and mind control, while another generated powerful bursts of flame. The fourth killed his enemies by telekinetically manipulating their body chemistry, and the fifth used powerful telekinesis to bludgeon and batter his enemies aside. In the end, the warriors saved the two from Jafar's forces. Jasmine and the Genie looked in amazement at the five warriors who had single-handedly defeated an entire horde of Warp creatures and even bested Jafar himself in battle. Their armor was battle-worn, but visible was the symbol of their Legion: a white, eight-pointed serpentine star. Through telepathy did Jasmine and the Genie learn the names of their saviors: Phosis T'Kar, Hathor Ma'at, Khalophis, Baleq Uthizzar, and their master, Ahzek Ahriman.

These five were the respective captains of five of the nine Legion Fellowships. Masters of ancient cults, and warrior-brothers of an ancient and arcane Legion of Space Marines. They were warriors of the Crimson King and of the XV Legion.

Jasmine and the Genie had been rescued by the arcane and mysterious XV Legion.

The Thousand Sons.

Both were taken to Prospero, the homeworld of the Thousand Sons, a world that was full of arcane lore, mysticism, and a race of psychic humans. After being healed and nurtured, the two were given an audience with Ahzek Ahriman, who was not only the First Captain and Chief Librarian of the Legion, but also its Master and the leader of one its five cults, the Corvidae. He explained to them who they were and why they had saved them. Jasmine and the Genie had been destined to join the Thousand Sons and defeat Chaos, the sworn enemy of the Imperium of Man, whom the Thousand Sons were a member of. After much thinking, and realizing their only chance of survival and the rescue of their loved ones' souls lay with these warriors, both agreed to join and fight alongside them. As a result, Jasmine and the Genie became apprentices and learned the mystical arts under the watchful gaze of the Thousand Sons.

For Genie, it was easy to learn, but for Jasmine, it was difficult. At first, she learned combat and numerous combat arts, as well as minor spiritual abilities. It wasn't until a sudden psychic flare caused her to be changed. The psychic flare spread throughout Prospero, enhancing the abilities of every psychic who was touched by its passing for a brief while. But for Jasmine, the psychic flare triggered in her dormant psyker genes she had had since birth, but which were never active until this moment. Within seconds, Jasmine soon inherited powerful psychic abilities, including telekinesis, telepathy, and other powers. Her meteoric rise within the Legion ranks was assured, with Jasmine mastering all her mentors could teach her. She learned from the nine Captains of Fellowships, and from the Fates, the three mysterious and most powerful of the Thousand Sons. But of all her mentors, none taught her more than the First Captain and Master of the Thousand Sons. Ahzek Ahriman himself.

From Ahzek did Jasmine learn of the Legion's history. She learned that since the beginning, the Thousand Sons Legion was one that was feared and hated throughout the Imperium for their very powers. Despite being the most loyal of Space Marine Legions, the Thousand Sons were shunned by many of their fellow Legions and by the Imperium at large simply because of the powers they wielded. This mob mentality was eerily similar to the times when witchcraft and magic was feared by the superstitious masses and had thousands killed simply for being accused of witchcraft or unclean sorcery. History repeated itself with the Thousand Sons and their enemies. The Legion was very nearly destroyed by the very Imperium it served when fate intervened: the Great Heresy had begun. The Heresy pitted brother against brother, and very nearly tore the galaxy apart in endless war. The Thousand Sons fell under severe scrutiny and were nearly exterminated by fanatics and superstitious fools within the Imperium. The Emperor, however, soon intervened and declared the Legion to be untainted and pure, with their very actions and sacrifices during the Heresy more than justifying their stalwart loyalty. It would be millennia, however, before the Thousand Sons could be counted as trustworthy comrades and brothers-in-arms. But eventually, the Thousand Sons were vindicated and became trusted allies in the Imperium.

For five centuries did Jasmine and the Genie stay with the Thousand Sons, learning and fighting under their tutelage. And then, something miraculous happened.

Jasmine had learned much in her long years and during a spirit travel in the Warp, she came upon a powerful being of light. He was magnificent: red-skinned, clad in golden armor, muscular and strong, with such a powerful aura around him. But he bore a look which Jasmine instantly recognized: he had only one eye, and that eye blazed with incredible energies. The spirit of Magnus the Red, gene-father, master, and Primarch of the Thousand Sons, had come to her. In a telepathic conversation that lasted only seconds, Jasmine learned of Magnus's life, his very being, and Jafar's master. She learned that Jafar had made a devil's bargain with a powerful Chaos god: Tzeentch, the Architect of Fate, the Changer of Ways, and the god of cunning, change, and sorcery. He had offered Jafar the chance to live again and destroy his hated foes in exchange for limitless arcane knowledge and his soul, which Jafar gladly consented to. So did Jafar become a servant a Tzeentch. Jasmine also learned that Tzeentch had sought to control Magnus and the Thousand Sons, and had very nearly succeeded, until Magnus was able to defy him and refuse to turn against the Imperium and the father he loved so dearly. Single-handedly, in just one life-changing decision, Magnus was able to change his destiny and that of his Legion forever. Magnus's final gift to Jasmine was his memories, his charisma, and a fraction of his own powers. So did Jasmine inherit a small portion of Magnus' psychic abilities, but even with this she became the most powerful psyker in the Thousand Sons, mastering every form of magic they had and becoming master of all five Legion cults: the Corvidae (precognition and foresight), the Raptora (telekinetic powers), the Pavoni (mastery of biomancy, lightning-conjurers, and manipulation of body chemistry), the Pyrae (pyrokinesis), and the Athanaeum (telepathy). Since then, Jasmine has remained the most powerful of the Thousand Sons, a loyal Princess and wife to her father and husband, and a good friend to the Genie, who had himself grown in power and become Jasmine's Tutelary, or psychic companion. Together, these two are the last hope for a destroyed Agrabah, and for their friends, who have since had their souls fall into the hands of Tzeentch himself...........or have they?..............

Jasmine. Genie. The Thousand Sons. Tzeentch. To me, this is a perfect match-up of arcane mystery and adventure. Here is Jasmine, now a gifted psychic and sorceress, for she has learned from one of the greatest forces of magic and sorcery in existence, the Thousand Sons. Behind her is her mentor, Ahzek Ahriman himself, hence the title of my artwork.
